IIM Indore was the first IIM to introduce the IPM and has a high number of students applying annually. IIM Indore offers a strong foundation in Maths, Economics and Communication in the first few years, followed by Advanced Business Studies. The IPMAT is intended to evaluate your foundational abilities in an easy yet intelligent manner. The exam is online, conducted at an examination centre. Most questions are multiple choice; however, some mathematics questions require typing in an answer. The goal is to assess candidates’ comprehension, timeliness and accuracy in a balanced manner.

In the Math section, students must practice these concepts and develop speed — the material is not overly difficult as long as one studies consistently. The IPMAT cutoff represents the minimum score you must obtain in order to qualify for the next phase of the admissions process. If you score above the cutoff, you continue to subsequent rounds such as an interview.

IPMAT preparation can become simple if you have a proper study plan from the start. Begin by learning basic math and English concepts, and after you’re comfortable with those, start practicing related questions.
Master Class 9–10 level fundamentals in Math, English, and Reasoning before moving to practice questions.
Spend 1–2 hours on Quantitative Aptitude, 1 hour on English, and some time on Logical Reasoning each day.
Daily practice — even a few hours — is far better than studying a lot once in a while. Consistency builds speed.
